What Do You Say?

This morning I had an itch to get outside, so I said to Avery, "Let's go outside and play in the snow! What do you say?" I didn't realize that the question "What do you say?" is usually accompanied by raised eye-brows and the expectation that Avery will then remember to say something polite like "please" or "thank-you". I was answered by a confused silence and then she finally said, "'Cuse (excuse) me."
