Are You My Mother?

P.K. Eastman's book Are You My Mother? has shaped Avery's life ;) She likes to go up to people on a whim and ask, "Are you my mother?" (She'll also ask, "Are you my father?" like last Sunday when we were looking for Jason after church let out.) Once a girl just bigger than Avery answered her with, "I am not your mother!" It was just what the dog says to the baby bird in the book, and Avery thought that was pretty neat. She's been waiting for her chance to be that cool and say that to someone ever since. Well, she got her opportunity the other day when we were at the book store. A small girl walked past us calling, "Mom!" Avery jumped on that and hurried over to her to say, "I am not your mother!" Then she came back and told me all about it. It was just like in the book. So. Cool.
