New Big Sister

We are between library cards right now (last year's card expired and we're waiting for national library week to buy our next one for 50% off) and, boy, am I getting tired of reading the same few books we own over and over and over. We've read them so many times that Avery has started acting them out. It's been kinda fun getting visits from Little Red Riding Hood with her basket full of goodies or running across bridges to escape potential trolls underneath.

There is one book that makes me especially happy to have Avery act out. It's called I'm a New Big Sister and it's all about how to be a good sister. It's got Avery making funny faces at June so she doesn't cry when I change her diaper, picking up small toys so that Junie doesn't get hurt, and even helping feed her when she's hungry. Just like in the book, Avery tries not to get food on Junie's face:

Although, I don't think June would mind seeing as how this is how she ends up when she feeds herself:

Avery would never have gotten messy like that, but June is too independent to let anyone feed her... except Avery, apparently. I guess I should exploit that until the novelty of it wears off. Think how much time I would save on clean-up!
