Last night Jason had had it with our pediatrician's advice to ignore Avery's thumb sucking/hair pulling behavior and plastered her thumb with band-aids. As I put her to bed she was having a hard time remembering that she couldn't suck her thumb. She kept bringing it up to her mouth and then lowering it back down again. After reading her a story, I looked down to find her awkwardly sucking her other thumb.
"Oh, your sucking your other thumb?" I asked.
"Yeah," she replied. Then, gesturing to the bandaged thumb she said, "That's not the only thumb in the world!"
