It's a Girl!

June wanted to plant some flowers in her fairy garden so I gave her the petunias I had leftover from the front yard. They were salmon pink and she loved them. She dug a small hole in her garden. Then I handed her a flower that didn't have any blooms yet and said, "Ok, now stick him in there."

She was offended. "No, mom! It's a girl! All flowers are girls! Or, she will be when she's born. Right now she's in her mommy's tummy."

I swear June is Mother Nature's nearest kin, so she's probably right.

I will never refer to a flower as a “him” again.
