At family scripture study I was explaining how plain and precious parts of the Bible have been altered or removed, leaving people unclear about core doctrine.
We turned to John chapter one as an example. It says, “No man has seen the face of God at anytime.”
We talked about how that leads people to believe that no one can see God.
Not true!
Then we talked about how Joseph Smith translated the Bible and added back important truths that had been lost.
To the verse above, the Joseph Smith translation adds, “…without God testifying of his Son.”
So, “No man has seen the face of God at anytime without God testifying of his Son.”
Beautiful!
To drive the point home, I asked, “So what does God say whenever someone sees Him?”
Then Bryce, in a mystical/eerie voice, replied, “Youuuuuu didn’t seeeeee meeeeee.”
And mom smacks her forehead.
