Our house is overflowing with Halloween candy. With four kids trick-or-treating at both Jason's offices and for three hours around our neighborhood, we could build a mansion of candy that would make Hansel and Gretel's witch green with envy!
I told the kids they could have three pieces a day, one after each meal.
When I noticed Ross was hiding behind the couch, my mother's intuition told me he was sneaking candy.
Me: Ross, what are you doing?
Ross: Nothing.
Me: What are you eating?
Ross: Nothing.
Me: Why are you hiding behind the couch? Remember what you learned in Joy School? Tell the truth.
Ross: It's a carrot.
Me: Ha! Yeah right!
But wouldn't you know it... he was telling the truth! In the aftermath of Halloween, eating candy has become the norm so much so that we have to hide when we eat the healthy stuff. Heaven help us!
