We've had ourselves some real good times lately. This past weekend alone we celebrated Jason's birthday, Easter, and Jason's dad visiting for two days from Thailand. It was soooo fun! The common theme among the celebrations was...BUFFALO!
We went to Antelope Island for a picnic Saturday. The weather was beautiful and we were able to see tons of huge bison, some antelope, a coyote, a jack rabbit and an owl. Plus, even though nobody saw him, the Easter bunny must have visited the truck while we were out cause it was overflowing with Easter eggs! Yummy!
Maybe the best part about the weekend was that Avery got to meet Grandpa Eldredge for the first time. I think she took right to him. Who wouldn't? He's a great guy!It was so fun to have him here and we wish we could see him more often!
We had an Eldredge family BBQ Saturday night where Jason and Tim (his dad) grilled up buffalo steaks for 18 people! Boy, were they tasty!!!
Here's Jason with his dad, Tim, his brother, Dane, and his grandma, Gaga.
Me and Jason with Rio and Arian, our Eldredge family bffs.
Sunday was Avery's first Easter. Jason and I colored Easter eggs and made these two red, white, and blue ones special just for our little 4th of July baby.
Avery's latest trick is clapping her hands together. She loved doing it while they were full of these two eggs. By the time we finally abandoned them in the grass the shells were shattered to pieces!
I think in the future we'll stick with the plastic eggs ;)
Guess what we had for Easter Sunday dinner? Buffalo roast. What else? We just can't get enough of it around here. It's soooo good! (This big guy lives across the street from us at Lagoon. He was not our dinner :)
Besides having a fabulous weekend, Jason and I have been blessed (thanks to wonderful babysitters- my mom & dad and Janell & Sam) to be able to go on a few dates lately. Jason planned the first one: lunch at the Porcupine Pub and Grill followed by snowshoeing to Donut Falls. It was so fun to be on a date! Here we are inside the little snow cave around the falls. It was beautiful!
A couple days ago Jason was out in the living room on the computer and I was back in our bedroom by the printer when THIS little love note printed out. Yes! He loves me! Maybe he misses me on Mondays, too? Looks like buffalo isn't the only thing on our brains ;)
Happy Trails to You! Until next time...
